Life is a delicate gift, often taken for granted. We have so little control over its fragility. Journey with me to discover how precious life is and why we must act before it’s too late.

It was around 7:00 AM on an ordinary morning. My brother Jamie and I were driving to work on the toll road, a ritual we followed without thinking. This morning was different. As we started down the hill after paying the toll, a car looked ready to pull out from a side road. I thought, “No way that car will…” CRASH! Two cars lifted off the ground—one spun right, the other landed left. Something flew through a windshield.

We were feet away. Jamie pulled over, and I whispered, “Oh God.” We ran to the cars—Jamie to one, I to the other. Approaching the second car, I saw a woman inside. Others rushed toward a 3-year-old thrown through the windshield. I opened the door and spotted a one-year-old on the floor, motionless. Knowing not to move accident victims, I hesitated, but the baby wasn’t breathing. I gently lifted the child from its twisted position, laid them on the street near the other child, and checked for a pulse—nothing. Panicking, I thought, “God, I don’t know CPR for a baby—what if I hurt them?” I lightly compressed the tiny chest a few times. A faint breath came, then stopped. Before I could try mouth-to-mouth, untrained and terrified, a woman in BDUs rushed up, shouting, “I’m a nurse!” She tossed her hat aside and began CPR. A man in a T-shirt and shorts knelt beside her, saying, “I’m a paramedic,” and assisted.

Seeing the children in capable hands, I returned to the woman’s car. She was unconscious but breathing, with only a cut above her left eye. I thought, “She’s fine, just shaken.” I glanced at Jamie, his hands bloodied from helping the other car, where a child was crying, and the driver seemed okay. I started praying.

The woman stirred, turning in her seat. Then I saw—she was pregnant. I asked, and she confirmed, “Yes.” Emergency crews and a helicopter arrived, taking over. Later, I learned the devastating truth: the 22-year-old woman and her unborn child died.

This tragedy taught me life’s fragility. We get so caught up in busyness that we forget to cherish the moment. Is someone on your mind? Go to them—talk, embrace, connect. Tomorrow isn’t promised. Need to reconcile with a relative? Weighing a fight with your spouse or kids? Know someone whose faith you’re unsure about? Life is fleeting—make peace, make your mark, make a difference!

If I’d learned infant CPR, I might have saved a life. Preparation matters. Are you ready to save lives—or souls? God equips us to witness to the lost through the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and our Christian family. He deemed us worth dying for; we must share that gift.

Help me reach the lost. We often hold back because we’re content with just enough faith to “make it” to heaven. Let’s dig deeper, preparing to share Christ when someone asks. You may not get another chance. Don’t preach or persuade—just share how Jesus has worked in your life, and trust God with the rest. Plant the seed; He’ll nurture it.

Here’s a witness note to carry or memorize, ready for that moment:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” —Romans 3:23
“Unless you repent, you too will all perish.” —Luke 13:3
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16

Prayer for the Lost:
Dear Jesus,
I know I’ve sinned. I believe You died and rose to wash my sins away. I need You and want You in my life. Thank You for forgiving me and coming into my heart forever. Help me learn about You and live as You desire. Amen.

Let’s share the Gospel with the lost and ensure those we think are found truly know Christ. Life is too fragile to wait.

God is good!

As usual, God is good ALL the time! I have learned that God does not change Malachi 3:6; it is me who changes my perspective at times. When I keep my focus on the Lord; all is better than well. God has blessed me in so many occasions I cannot begin to list them. Most […]

Fruit Of The Spirit

Have you ever looked in the mirror and saw someone else? I didn’t think so, that would be really strange wouldn’t it? What about saying one thing and doing another? I think we have all been guilty of that one a time or twelve. I was reading today and came across a few verses in […]

Prayer Response

I was going through old emails today. I found several emails I sent to Charles Stanley and Michael Beale where I was asking for help with prayer and more specifically prayers. As I took this trip down forgotten lane my attention was brought to the exact prayers I asked for. I had long since forgotten […]
